SOLAR STORAGE
A solar storage battery bank is an essential part of taking advantage of the energy production from your solar panels. You are able to store power generated during the peak sun periods of the day and save it for use in late and early periods of the day when little solar power is generated and at night. Further it supports ensuring emergency power if that is your objective, or in being “Off-the-Grid” and not paying the Utility Company. The further you wish to move along the spectrum from Emergency Use to Grid Independence, you require greater battery capacity. And the high efficiency and reliability Lithium batteries (such as those from Blue Heron Battery) are the ideal battery for that job - small footprint, very long life, reliable power, full capacity available.
Both our Drop-In and Modular Batteries are made with prismatic cells, so they will support large power storage demands and cycles for many years. Our Modular Batteries will support up to 8 in parallel and 4 in series, for a very large storage bank.
Most solar storage banks are 24V or 48V; 48V is more energy efficient and preferred for that reason, if you can manage that. Our Drop-In and Modular Lithium batteries will support either configuration. Those batteries can store up to 60.5kW-hrs with the Drop-In batteries and 121kW-hrs with our Modular Batteries, using 315Ah batteries, all of it useable with Lithium batteries.
